![]() The speculation from the Q & A that the backswing is capped in relation to the marker position is indeed a bummer. I am interested to see how they handle the distance you can get out of very heavy rough. As for meter players it shouldn't matter I guess but then you would be giving up the tempo element in putting they are talking about. No proportional backswing/power is a major bummer for analog stick players in itself. The stepping down from 4K to 1080p is not much of a sacrifice for me to achieve my foremost goal, which is 60 FPS. The good news here is that I finally have an answer from which I can make a purchase decision - I'll go with the PC version where I'm pretty sure I'll be able to run this game at 60 FPS in 1080p on my gaming PC. As a result, we’re examining the ability to add it into the game in the future." We understand that some players have a strong visual preference for higher framerate in their video games and we’ve heard community feedback surrounding the fps of the game on console. Consoles (Xbox X/S and PS 5) will run 30 fps. "On PC, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR can run at 30 fps, 60 fps, or unlocked framerate. Here's EA Sports response to the wave of questions they've received about the console version's frame rates: ![]() but every time I think of golf games I've played at 30 FPS, I can't get rid of that impression of the feeling of 'swinging the club underwater' out of my mind. I don't know ANYONE who can play 2K23 on the Series X in quality mode.ĮA's game running at 30 FPS may very well be a different experience, since it won't be as server dependent at 2K's game. it dips into the 20s quite often! It feels like playing underwater, just like the Series X version feels in what they call quality mode on the Series X. at 4K res, this same PC can't maintain 30 FPS in 2K23. However, I do know that this is not enough to be significant factor in the play of the PC version of the game, when I have the resolution at 1080p. The difference in between 2K23 and EA Sports Golf is that EA's game isn't going to be fetching as much data off the server as 2K's golf game, as the game is being played so it may/should be less likely to suffer from these inexplicable glitches. There's at least one or two times a round when I come away scratching my head wondering: how did I get a result that bizarre!? I can always reconcile the shot result with what I felt on the PC version!? The game feels like it's running between 30 and 60 FPS on the Series X, but it's inconsistent enough to be extremely frustrating at times. I much prefer playing it on the PC for the proportional responses I get from the swing. ![]() It's a much more enjoyable and organic game experience. The smooth feedback and response I get from the PC at a steady 60 FPS makes the gameplay feel a lot easier to reconcile. My average score on the PC version of the game is 8.5 strokes less than what I manage on the XBox Series X. Fortunately, I can force my PC to play the game in 1080p and maintain a solid 60 FPS, which is verified by Steam's frame rate counter. The game makes no claim as to what frame rate it runs at on the Series X in either performance or quality mode. I currently play PGA TOUR 2K23 on both my XBox Series X (Society modes and multiplayer only) and on my gaming PC (career mode only). I don't know how analogous what I'm about to say is to EA Sports PGA TOUR 30 FPS is, but I'll throw it out there for what it's worth. I play 2k23 on a PS4 and I only get 30 fps and with the exception of the broken career mode I have never had a problem with the fluidity of the swing or the movement of the 3 click meters. Not sure 30 fps is going to be a concern really. ![]()
